Closed Issue: Direct Amazon Uploader fails when hosted on SSL site with a dot ('.') in the S3 bucket name.

When hosting this control on a site running SSL and trying to upload to an Amazon S3 bucket with a dot ('.') in it's name, the control fails and will not upload the file. Only known alternative at this time seems to be to use an alternate Amazon bucket with no dots in the name. Someone has reported success replacing the dots with hyphens in the bucket name.
Comments:

If this is a bug it is on the side of Amazon and I would prefer not to try to change it on my side as I am not sure if they will change it on their side at any time and thus break my change.

But I will add this in the docs so to help other know what to do.

I was having some trouble trying to get the amazon uploader to work, using the sample code provided. It wouldn't give an error but nothing was ever added to my bucket.

I created a new bucket with a US location and the same code seemed to work fine. So it seems that the uploader doesn't support EU buckets.

I have never tested it with EU bucket. It shouldn't be different though. Use fiddler to see what kind of response you get. Use non SSL ro see the response. I am sorry I don't have EU account to test it.

Hi,
I am facing a problem with Flajaxian upload control. Though the control is displayed and works perfectly in IE and Firefox but in when I ran the same page in Safari 4.0 browser, the page is coming blank and display nothing.

Pls help me out as it is very important from project point of view.

Problem non repeatable!

I just tested it with Safari 4.0.2 on Windows and I see absolutely no problems. Must be something else you have on the page.

The upload does not fail over standard http nor does it fail if the bucket name does not have dots in the name.

Using Visual Studio 2005 I copy and pasted the example exactly as is but am getting the following error:
Error 102 Unable to create type 'fjxau:AmazonUploader'. Could not load file or assembly 'com.flajaxian.FileUploader, Version=1.0.2937.39676, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=98ef6b70d9d62bae' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)

Tested on various computers and servers.
